Wednesday 5th October 2016

Today we were doing a diary entry, pretending to be someone from the book Beowulf. We were explaining what happened when Grendel burst in and ate the Sentry. While using adverbial phrases.

In maths, we were doing this tricky post assessment about rounding, negative numbers, greater than and less than and equal to. A busy day in owls!

This week in P.E we were with the rugby coaches and we played end ball it teams, it was very enjoyable because it was all about communicating with your team mates. This week we were talking about respect and how we respect the referee, the players and just being nice to each other. It was very fun to do and everyone is excited to do some new or game we already know with the rugby coaches (Jordan, Cam and Carl) next week! :)

In maths we were ordering numbers and decimals from smallest to largest from 0 to 1,000,000.
In theme we were designing Viking longboats and hopefully in a few weeks we might make our designs.

Gracias Olivia!

We have the most amazingly kind children in our class.

Today Olivia found me after school and showed me some Spanish books she had found at home and she has kindly let us borrow them for a while.

I am definitely going to read this to year 5 falcons who are learning Spanish with me at the moment on a Monday afternoon.

Thanks Olivia, or should I say, Gracias! :)

Speaking of languages.... This year Year 6 are learning to speak French. Year 6 are very lucky and have Mr Wood coming in to teach them; Mr Wood speaks fluent French.

I'm sure you are really going to enjoy learning another language.

Tuesday 27th September

We have been writing about our book for English (Beowulf) it`s about Viking warriors who fight an evil beast called Grendel .We also did a reading test the children did very well and they got a great score well done guys. In the afternoon we had the laptops and did some revision in a really fun way that I`m sure the children enjoyed. The book is very joyful, it is very interesting.

Monday 19th September 2016

Once we got in this morning we had our morning task, we did a little test it was only out of 8 and we will keep doing a few of them and then we will see how many we got out of 48.Our morning task was quite simple there was some text and some questions, you had to explain some and then tick some others. Some of us got 8/8,some of us got 3/8 but it's ok because we are at the start of the year and we have lots oftime to learn more and more. We jst need to try our hardest and do the best we can!

Today in year 6 Owls we have been writing letters to our friends like we were out at sea, we were portraying the part as Beowulf as we are reading the book Beowulf. Also linking to that some of us had to use semi colons, commas in a list, commas in a sentence, relative clauses, dashes and some other stuff we called it the success criteria. Also in English we did a reading task, we had to read the text answer some of the questions and pick one word out of six and write what we thought it was and then check it in the dictionary that was fun!!
